The Fam Damily kit isn't cheap, but when you divide it across four people it's the best money we've ever spent. Our whole family knows where our kit is and what to do.

I grabbed the Go Bag when the wildfire evacuation hit at 2am. Didn't have to think. Everything I needed was exactly where it should be. That feeling of readiness is worth the price alone.

Gas leak hit at 6am — no warning. I'm a single mother of two and had maybe four minutes to get out. Grabbed the Weekender off the shelf and went. Didn't realize until we were at the neighbor's house that I hadn't panicked once, because I knew exactly where the medical supplies were.

Multi-generational household — grandparents included. We tested the cook system on a camping trip before it was ever a real scenario and it worked flawlessly. When we did need the satellite communicator during last winter's ice storm, it was already second nature. Worth every dollar for a family this size.

FAQ

What threat scenarios are these kits designed for?
+

These kits cover the full spectrum: natural disasters (hurricanes, earthquakes, wildfires, flooding), infrastructure failures (extended power outages, water contamination), civil unrest scenarios, and general emergency evacuation. The rations, medical supplies, and shelter components work across all of these. We don't design around one specific scenario — we design for "things go wrong and you need to sustain for days."

How do I know which kit is right for my family?
+

If you're in an apartment or urban environment with a clear evacuation route: Go Bag for each adult. If you own a home in a suburban or rural area and want extended self-sufficiency: Weekender. If you have children, a multi-person household, or want expedition-grade capability: Fam Damily. If you're still unsure, use the inquiry form — we'll help you figure it out.

Can I customize or add to the kits?
+

Base kits are fixed configurations. We can discuss custom builds for organizations, groups, or specific scenarios — use the inquiry form. For individual additions, the Weekender and Fam Damily are designed to accept standard MOLLE-compatible add-ons.

Do you offer bulk or organizational pricing?
+

Yes. For organizations, first responders, group leaders, or anyone buying 5+ units: inquire via the form and we'll put together pricing. We have specific configurations designed for this and we've done it before.

What's your return / satisfaction policy?
+

30-day satisfaction guarantee. If you open the kit, use it, and it doesn't meet your expectations — contact us. We want you to have the right gear, not the wrong gear sitting in a closet.

How often should I refresh the rations?
+

Ration expiration is printed on each package. Standard shelf life is 3-5 years. We offer a refresh service for existing customers — contact us 6 months before expiration to arrange replacement.

Are the food rations safe for children and people with dietary restrictions?
+

Rations are allergen-labeled and free of the most common triggers — no peanuts, no shellfish. Calorie packs include a mix of formats, not all the same food, and each package lists all ingredients. We recommend reviewing the manifest (included in every kit) against your household's specific needs before sealing the bag. If you have a severe allergy or an infant in the home, contact us before purchase — we can advise on supplemental options.

How heavy are the bags? Can children carry their own kit?
+

Go Bag ships at approximately 18 lbs fully packed. Weekender at 26 lbs. The Fam Damily includes 4 separate carriers — adults carry the heavy components; children's carriers are pre-configured to around 10–12 lbs, appropriate for ages 8+. The kit manifest included with every Fam Damily has a suggested weight distribution chart by family member.

Where and how should I store the kit at home?
+

Store sealed, in a cool dry location — not a hot car or attic where temperature swings degrade rations and batteries. Ideal locations: hall closet near your exit door, under a bed, or a dedicated shelf in a temperature-regulated room. The Go Bag and Weekender are designed to sit near your exit point ready to grab in 30 seconds. Refresh rations every 3–5 years (expiration labeled on each pack). Keep the bag sealed — opening it "to check" degrades the water purification tabs and some ration packs.

Do the kits include instructions for using the gear?
+

Yes. Each kit ships with a waterproof laminated quick-reference card covering the most critical actions: activating the water filter, deploying the tarp shelter, operating the hand-crank radio, and using the IFAK. The Fam Damily also includes a printed Dispatch Coordination Guide — a structured protocol for coordinating family members if you're separated. Digital copies are emailed at purchase.
